The execution process commences after double-clicking the launcher executable file, but this process is suddenly aborted without an error message. The Java symbol appears briefly but the client does not start. You can check the server service. For more information, refer to: No Startup of Service on Servers. Also, the following causes are possible:
No Java 64-bit Client Versions
A Java 64-bit version is not installed.
- Open a command prompt.
- Enter the following command:
java -version
- Press Enter.
- The installed Java version is displayed.
- If no 64-bit version is detected, install this version.
Environment Variable JAVA_HOME Not Set
Make sure that the corresponding environment variable JAVA_HOME is set and pointing to the installation directory of the Java runtime environment.
Java Directory Not Set In PATH Environment Variable
Make sure that the PATH environment variable contains a reference to the Java installation like this: ...;%JAVA_HOME%\bin;
Old Windows User Caches
After an update of Siveillance Control, make sure that old caches are removed.
- In file explorer open folder C:\Users\[name of user]\.viewpoint
- Delete folder [server hostname]-engineering.
- Delete folder [server hostname]-runtime.
