You can use visualization variants to define the symbols that are used for displaying detectors and objects.

Creating Visualization Variants

You can create new visualization variants for a visualization class, such as cameras or area detectors.

  • The Graphics Editor perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Visualization Variants view, right-click a visualization class in the left part of the view and select Create visualization variant.
  1. Enter an Instance Name. Keep in mind that renaming is only possible by creating a copy.
  1. Click Finish.

Editing Visualization Variants

You can edit a default visualization variant. If you want to keep the default visualization you can edit its copy.

 

Copying Visualization Variants

  • The Graphics Editor perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Visualization Variants view, right-click a visualization variant in the left part of the view and select Duplicate visualization variant.
  1. Enter a name.
  1. Click Finish.

 

Editing Visualization Variants

  • The Graphics Editor perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Visualization Variants view, double-click a visualization variant you want to edit.
  1. Edit the symbol. For more information refer to: Graphics Editor Tools.
  1. Click  Save.

 

Renaming Visualization Variants

  • The Graphics Editor perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Visualization Variants view, right-click a visualization variant in the left part of the view and select Duplicate Visualization Variant.
  1. Enter the new name.
  1. Right-click the original and select Delete visualization variant(s).
  1. Click Yes.

Deleting Visualization Variants

  • The Graphics Editor perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Visualization Variants view, right-click a default visualization variant you want to delete in the left part of the view and select Delete visualization variant(s).
  1. Click Yes.

Exporting Visualization Variants

You can export existing visualization variants to transfer them between installations.

  • The Graphics Editor perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Visualization Variants view, you can select the following:
  • One or multiple visualization classes: All visualization variants belonging to these classes, for example Area detector or Camera, will be exported.
  • One or multiple visualization variants: Only the selected children of visualization classes will be exported.
  1. Right-click and select Export.
  1. Enter the following information:
  • File name: Define a directory to where you want to export the visualization variants. Enter the directory path or click . Enter the file name and click Save.
  • Password: Enter a password. The password has to fulfill the current password policy configured in the Siveillance Control preferences. For more information refer to: Configuring Password Policies.
  • Confirmed password: Enter the password again for confirmation.
  1. Click Finish.
  1. If you selected an existing file, you have the following options:
  • Click Yes. The existing file will be overwritten.
  • Click No. You have to select another file name.
  • The visualization variants are exported to the selected directory.
  • A corresponding message appears in the info line.

Importing Visualization Variants

You can import visualization variants again.

  • The Engineering perspective is displayed.
  • The password used for the export of visualization variants is known.
  1. In the toolbar, click  Import Data.
  1. In the Data channel field, select Visualization variants export file.
  1. Click Next.
  1. Select the appropriate .vizvars file.
  1. Enter the password that was used during the export of visualization variants.
  1. Click Next.
  1. In the MOX Detail Change dialog box, keep the default settings and click Next. For more information refer to: Advanced Import Settings.
  1. Select the import settings. For more information refer to: Import Settings.
  1. Click Finish.
  • The visualization variants appear in the Visualization Variants view.
