You can configure tables in different views of the Events/Messages perspective of the engineering client. Tables in the following views can be configured:

  • Message List view
  • System State List view
  • Scheduled Events view
  • Event List view
  • Some tables in the Rate Message window

You can configure the following contents and features:

  • Display of columns
  • Sequence of columns
  • Width of columns
  • Font size

Selecting Table Columns to be Displayed

You can define which tables are displayed in the header.

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  • The table is configurable.
  1. Right-click the table header.
  1. Select a column name.
  • If the name on the left-hand side was not marked previously, it will now be marked: the column is shown in the table.
  • If the name on the left-hand side was marked previously, it will now be unmarked: the column is not shown in the table.

Configuring Sequences of Columns to be Displayed

You can define your own sequence of columns.

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  1. Click the header you want to reposition.
  1. Drag it to a new position.

Configuring Column Widths

You can edit the width of columns. However, this is not possible for the first three columns.

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  1. Select an edge of a column.
  1. Move the edge until the column has the appropriate width.

Adapting the Font Size in Tables

  1. Open Window > Preferences.
  1. Select Siveillance Control > Views > Tables.
  1. In the Font size field, adjust the font size for columns containing information without a date or time.
  1. In the Font size (date/time) field, adapt the font size for columns containing a date or time.
  1. Click OK.
  • The Preference(s) changed dialog box opens to confirm the changes.
  1. Restart the client for the changes to take effect.
  • All tables display information in the selected font size.

Adapting the Font Size for Tables Individually

  1. Open the Windows > Preferences menu.
  1. In the Siveillance Control tree select the following tree entries for the different views.
  • Message List view: Siveillance Control > Messages
  • System State List view: Siveillance Control > Messages > System state
  • Scheduled Events view: Siveillance Control > Events > Scheduled events
  • Event List view: Siveillance Control > Events
  1. Adapt the font size for columns containing a date or time in the Font size (date/time) field.
  1. Adjust the font size for columns containing information without a date or time in the Font size field.
  1. Click OK.
  • The Preference(s) changed dialog box opens to confirm the changes.
  1. Restart the client for the changes to take effect.
  • The information in the specified table is displayed in the selected font size.

Configuring the Table Sorting

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  1. In the table header, click  Open View Menu.
  1. Select Configure Table Sorting.
  1. Enter the sorting settings.
  1. Click Finish.

Selecting Table Rows

  • You have the following options to select table rows:
  • To select one table row, click it.
  • To select several neighboring rows, click the first row you want to select, press and hold Shift and click the last row you want to select.
  • To select several non-neighboring rows, click the first row you want to select, press and hold Ctrl and click all other rows you want to select.
  • To deselect a row, press and hold Ctrl and click it again.
  • To navigate within the table, you can use the up and down arrow key.

Context Menus in Tables

Many actions in tables are controlled by using context menus.

  1. Right-click a row.
  1. Select the required action to perform it.

Sorting Tables

You can sort tables for a better overview in the Operator Log or Administration perspectives and the System State List view.

You have the following three options:

  1. To sort the table alphabetically from top to bottom, click the table header of the column whose content you want to use as a basis for sorting.
  1. To sort the table alphabetically from bottom to top, click the table header of the column again.
  1. To unsort the table, click the table header of the column again.

Searching and Filtering by Date and Time

Some tables have a date and time column. For searching and filtering the date and time column, an input field above the column header is available. To filter tables by date and time, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the arrow symbol beneath the input field.
  1. Mark the From check box.
  1. Click the arrow symbol next to the date entry and specify the start date. Click the arrow symbols next to the time entry to optionally specify the start time.
  1. Mark the To check box and specify the end date. Click the arrow symbols next to the time entry to optionally specify the end time.
  1. To close the date input field, click outside the input field.
  1. To remove a filter after selecting it from the drop-down menu, click in the column.

Searching and Filtering with Text Input

For some columns, input fields above the column header are available for searching and filtering.

  1. Click the input field for the column you want to filter.
  1. Enter a search term.
  • The table is filtered automatically.
  1. To erase the search term, click .

Displaying Columns in the Operator Log

The following columns are visible by default:

  • Timestamp
  • Type
  • Text
  • User
  • Workstation

Additionally, you can display the Source and Reference IDs column.

  • The Operator Log perspective is displayed.
  1. Right-click the column header.
  1. Select the columns you want to display in the Operator Log.
