Detector data is normally created by the subsystem data points import. For more information refer to: Importing Subsystem Data Points. Besides the data points import you can create detector data manually in case the data points file is not complete. You can also perform mass editing on detector data using the XLS Export.

Creating Detector Data Manually

You can create detectors manually. This can make sense for resolving error messages from the OIS. For more information refer to: Resolving Error Messages from OIS.

  • The Engineering perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Location Tree, right-click the area for which you want to configure the detector and select New > [Detector Type].
  1. Enter the following information:
  • Instance Name: Enter a name of the detector.
  • External ID: Enter the external ID.
  • Number of Instances: Enter the number of the detectors to be created.
  • Comment: Enter a comment to provide an additional information on the detector.
  • Discipline: Select a discipline to assign the detector to.
  1. Click Next.
  1. To display the first object with a number, mark the Number on First Object check box. Otherwise, it will not be numbered.
  1. To enter your own name pattern, change the default name in the Multiple Name Pattern field.
  1. Click Finish.

Editing Detector Data with XLS Export

Excel files can be used to supplement or extent the configuration independently of Siveillance Control. Complete the following steps:

 

Exporting Configuration Data as Excel File

  • The Engineering perspective is displayed.
  1. In the menu bar, select File > Save XLS Template.
  1. Enter the target directory and the file name.
  1. Click Finish.

 

Editing Excel Files

  1. Open the Excel file to make manual changes. Only edit Excel files that you have exported from Siveillance Control. Otherwise, incompatibilities can arise.
  1. Save your changes.

The XLS file is very extensive.

(Re)Importing Excel Files

  1. In the toolbar, click  Import Data.
  1. In the Data channel field, select Excel files.
  1. Click Next.
  1. Select the file you want to import.
  1. Click Next.
  1. In the MOX Detail Change dialog box, select the advanced settings and click Next. For more information refer to: Advanced Import Settings.
  1. In the Importer Settings dialog box, select the import settings and click Next. For more information refer to: Import Settings.
  1. Click Finish.
