You can edit the names of the users and user groups. Assigning individual users to several user groups is also possible. They then assume different roles and can log in multiple times.
Editing User and User Group Names
- The User and Authorization Management perspective is displayed.
- In the Permissionable Objects tree, right-click the user or user group and select Edit Object Properties.
- In the Object Properties view, click the name of the user or user group in the Instance Name field.
- Enter your changes.
- Press Enter.
Adding Users to User Groups
- The User and Authorization Management perspective is displayed.
- In the Permissionable Objects tree, right-click a user group and select Add Existing User to Group.
- Select the user you want to add.
- Click Finish.
Deleting Users from User Groups
- The User and Authorization Management perspective is displayed.
- In the Permissionable Objects tree, right-click a user or user group and select Delete User from Group.
- Click Yes.
- Add users that no longer belong to a user group to a new or existing one. Otherwise, the entry The user must belong to a group will be displayed in the task list. For more information refer to: Tasks View.
Recovering Default Users
If a default user was deleted accidently, you have to recover the default user. Otherwise, a system start is no longer possible. For more information refer to: No Users Available.
Deleting Users
- The User and Authorization Management perspective is displayed.
- In the Permissionable Objects tree, right-click the user you want to delete and select Delete Object(s) from Database.
- Click Yes.
Deleting User Groups
When you delete user groups you have to make sure that remaining users still belong to another user group.
- The User and Authorization Management perspective is displayed.
- In the Permissionable Objects tree, right-click the user group you want to delete and select Delete User Group.
- You have the following options:
- To delete all users that belong to this user group only, keep the default settings in the Delete Contained Users If Not in Other Group check box.
- To not delete any users subordinate to this user group, unmark the Delete Contained Users If Not in Other Group check box.
