Configuring Preferences

The administrative settings are only available if you have the necessary rights.

Some changes require a restart of the Siveillance Control client. If Siveillance Control is connected to a subsystem, be aware that at least one Siveillance Control client needs to stay connected to not lose any message of the subsystem.

  1. In the menu bar, select Window > Preferences.
  1. Select Siveillance Control.
  1. Click a setting.
  • A table showing the current values of the setting appears.
  1. Confirm the input value by clicking OK or reject the change by clicking Cancel.

Configuring the Tasks List

The number of table entries displayed in the Tasks view can be configured.

  1. In the menu bar, select Window > Preferences.
  1. Select Siveillance Control > Views > Tasks.
  1. In the Maximal Number of Entries field, enter an entry number.
  1. Click OK.
  1. To apply the changed number of task list entries, quit Siveillance Control and login again.

Configuring the L-Shape

The position and size of the Rate Message window is determined by means of the top left and bottom right corners of the box. You can adjust the top left position.

  1. In the menu bar, select Window > Preferences.
  1. Select Siveillance Control > Views > L-Shape.
  1. To configure the table column with index, complete the following steps:
  • Enter a number in the Align to Table Column With Index field.
  • Click OK.
  • The left margin is based on Message List and Event List view and corresponds to the configured table column.
  • The first columns remain visible when the Rate Message window is open.
  1. To configure the table row with index, complete the following steps:
  • Enter a number in Align to Table Row With Index field.
  • Click OK.
  • In the top margin, the table rows entered are visible in the Message List and Event List view, when the Rate Message window is open.
  1. To apply the changes, quit Siveillance Control and login again.

Configuring Property Fields in the Rate Message Window

You can remove or modify the position of the property fields displayed in the Rate Message window. The property fields are arranged by default in the Rate Message window like shown in the following table:

  1. In the menu bar, select Window > Preferences.

  1. To change the position of a field displayed in the Rate Message window, complete the following steps:
  • Click near the corresponding Position [X] field.
  • The Choose Attribute dialog displays all the fields displayed in the Rate Message window and all the custom properties in the Objects view.
  • Select the field for which you want to change the position and click Finish.
  • For example, if you want to change the position of the property field labeled Message from Position 1 to Position 4 and the property field labeled Category from Position 4 to Position 1, perform the above mentioned steps and the result is shown below:

  1. To remove a field from the Rate Message window, complete the following steps:
  • Click near the corresponding Position [X] field.
  • Select Nothing Selected from the Choose Attribute dialog and click Finish.
  1. To apply the changes, quit Siveillance Control and login again.

Configuring Event Settings

  1. In the menu bar, select Window > Preferences.
  1. Select Siveillance Control > Events.
  1. To enable or disable event-based processing, complete the following steps:
  • Mark or unmark the Support Toggle Setting check box. To enable the function, keep the default settings.
  • Click OK.
  1. To enable event-based processing on starting and logging in to Siveillance Control, complete the following steps:
  • Mark the Activate event based handling at startup check box. This influences the information displayed in the Message List and Event List view.
  • Click OK.
  1. To influence the display of details of the primary message in the Rate Message window, complete the following steps:
  • Mark the Show Leading Message Details check box. To hide the details, unmark the check box.
  • Click OK.
  1. To edit the background colors for event list and the header of displayed events, complete the following steps:
  • Select a background color under Background Color.
  • Click OK.
  • The settings are only effective after restarting the client.
  1. To edit the text colors for event list and the header of displayed events, complete the following steps:
  • Select a text color under Text Color.
  • Click OK.
  • The settings are only effective after restarting the client.
  1. To influence the display of the objects of the primary message, complete the following steps:
  • Mark the Only Objects of Leading Message check box to display the objects of the primary message only. Otherwise, unmark the check box.
  • Click OK.
  1. To select which further objects are displayed in the graphic, complete the following steps:
  • Select an option from the Object Visibility drop-down list.
  • Click OK.
  1. To define a time after which the Message List view is displayed again after another view was opened, complete the following steps:
  • Enter a time in the Reset Event List Filter field.
  • Click OK.
  1. To adjust the number of maximum entries in the Event List view, complete the following steps:
  • Enter a number in the Maximum number of displayed events field.
  • Click OK.
  1. To configure event printout with a composition of graphic sequences for all messages of the event, complete the following steps:
  • Unmark the Only Graphic Sequence of Leading Message check box.
  • Click OK.

Configuring Event Reminders

  1. In the menu bar, select Window > Preferences.
  1. Select Siveillance Control > Events > Event Reminder.
  1. You have the following options:
  • To display the option Restart Workflow in the Event Reminder tab, mark the Show Option Restart Workflow check box. You can choose when initiating a reminder whether processing of the action is to be continued or restarted.
  • To hide the option Restart Workflow in the Event Reminder tab, unmark the Show Option Restart Workflow check box. Processing of the action is always continued in case of a reminder.
  1. Click OK.
  1. To transmit the changes to the runtime server, perform activation in the runtime client.
