In Siveillance Control, the graphic functions (sphinx open) have to be activated. The activation requires a license key. In this key, the number of workstations that can be started with activated graphic functions is encrypted. You receive the license key with your purchase of Siveillance Control. If one or more license keys have been successfully entered and accepted, graphics functions are available at runtime without error messages or warnings. The graphics functions are disabled without the license. An appropriate message is displayed instead of the graphic. You have to add a license in this case. The next valid license is used when logging in on a runtime or engineering client. Invalid licenses are ignored.

All licenses that are saved on the license server for graphics functions are displayed in the license overview. You find the license overview in the Preferences dialog box under Siveillance Control > User Settings > Graphics Settings > Licensing. The following information is displayed for every license:

  • Application: The module name is displayed.
  • Active: The specified number corresponds to the currently logged-in workstations that are currently using this license.
  • Max.: The maximum number of workstations with graphics function that can be started with this license key.
  • Valid until: Both temporary and unlimited licenses are available. The expiry date is displayed in the case of temporary licenses. Once an expiry date has been reached, the graphic under this license is no longer displayed from this time on.
  • Key: Encrypted license information.

Click Refresh to synchronize the licenses with the license server. The license overview is updated in the process. Any licenses deleted by another engineering client are deleted. The number of actively used licenses is updated.
