The Message List view displays all current, already processed and closed messages.
The current messages are always displayed first to ensure the best possible overview for the operator. The display of messages in the message list can on one hand be restricted by authorization rules for different user groups.
In the context menu, you have the following options:
- Perform commands
- Open the Rate Message window
- Create and start events
- Add messages to an event
- Close messages
- Print messages
- Engineering client only: delete messages
Message List Sorting
The most important messages are placed at the beginning of the Message List view. The following criteria influence the sorting of the Message List view:
Sort criterion | Content | Description |
---|---|---|
Message status | Active Quiet Closed | In descending order Cannot be configured |
Message type | Various message types ranging from Alarm to Walk test on | In descending order Cannot be configured |
Discipline | Depends on the configuration, for example fire alarm technology | In descending order Can be configured |
Detector type priority | Critical Very high High Average Low | In descending order Can be configured |
Timestamp | Date Time | The current value is displayed first Cannot be configured |
The following message type sequence applies to sorting of the messages:
Ordinal | Message Type |
---|---|
100 | Alarm |
120 | Tamper |
140 | Pre-warning |
150 | Pre-alarm |
200 | Fault |
289 | Unarmed locked |
290 | Inhibit |
291 | Armed internal |
295 | Revision result |
298 | Deinhibit |
300 | Message |
350 | Unknown |
370 | Not activated |
375 | Not deactivated |
400 | Isolated |
450 | Armed |
470 | Unarmed |
500 | Active |
520 | Verification on |
530 | Verification off |
600 | Revision on |
800 | Revision required |
875 | Information |
950 | Quiet |
999 | Connection |
999 | Manned |
999 | Responsibility |
999 | Walk test on |
Processing States of Messages
Messages are additionally differentiated according to the processing status. The following processing statuses are possible:
Status | Description |
---|---|
Unreviewed | Current message is unreviewed |
Assigned to an event | Message is assigned to an event |
Quiet message | Detector is reset |
Closed | Message is closed |
The message status is differentiated based on text and background color.
Status | Color | Example |
---|---|---|
Active | Color background | |
Quiet following previous incident | Color inversion: gray background, font color in background color of active message | |
Quiet without previous incident | Light gray background, black type | |
Closed | Dark gray background, black type |
The Sixpack symbols are part of an entry in the Message List view. They give a quick overview of the message status. The following symbols can be displayed:
Symbol | Description |
---|---|
The acoustic signal for a message is output. | |
The message has not yet been seen. | |
The message is assigned to an event. | |
The message was automatically assigned to an event. | |
The connection to an external system is disrupted. |
Message List Entries with Submessages
The main message and the submessages can have the same or different active or inactive states. You can identify all possible combinations by the bounding box around the icon.
The basic options are listed using the example of a fire alarm:
- Message is active (alarm) and any available submessage is active (alarm)
- Message is active (alarm) and submessage is in a quiet state
- Message is in a quiet state and the submessage is active
- Message is in a quiet state and all available submessages are in a quiet state
Information in Message List Entries
By default, the entry in the Message List view contains the following information:
Information | Description |
---|---|
Opens submessages if available. | |
Icon column | Displays the incident-related symbol. |
Symbol | Displays the processing status of the message. For more information refer to Sixpack Symbol tablein Processing States of Messages. |
Message Text | Displays a text that depends on the message. |
Number of Submessages | Displays the number of available submessages. |
Message Location (Instance Name) | Displays the area where the alarm was triggered. |
Originating Object (Comment) | Displays detailed message information from the alarm system. |
Originating Object (Instance Name) | Displays the name of the detector. |
Created | Displays the time a message is first registered on the runtime server. The current time is found at the lower right margin of your window. |
Event ID | Displays the internally assigned event ID. This ID is used for assigning messages to events. |
The assignment of the columns can be configured by the commissioning engineer.
Meaning of Colors in Message List Entries
Colors and symbols are used to highlight the criteria and processing states of messages. For status change to quiet the background color of the message changes to grey, whereas the font color switches to the background color of the status message. The colors can be adapted to meet your personal visual preferences. The default colors for status messages are the following:
The default colors for other messages are the following:
Automatic Message Printout
If the automatic printout of messages was configured in the engineering mode, the alarm message is printed directly after you receive it. You can use it for the fire services, for example. In the Operator Log, you can check whether the printout was successful.
