You can create an event by clicking an event button, whose predefined operation procedure steps can be processed simply and quickly. This is useful if, for example, a group of detectors has to be activated whenever a geographical location is entered for maintenance purposes. By clicking an event button, an event is created whose predefined operation procedure steps can be processed quickly and simply. The following steps are necessary to configure an event button.
Creating Comfort Button Groups
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- In the Graphics Tree, right-click a blank space and select New > Group of Comfort Buttons.
- Enter a name.
- To create more than one group of comfort buttons, enter the appropriate number in the Number of Instances field.
- Enter a comment if necessary.
- Click Next.
- To display the first object with a number, mark the Number on First Object check box. Otherwise, it will not be numbered.
- To enter your own name pattern, change the default name in the Multiple Name Pattern field.
- Click Finish.
Creating Event Buttons
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- Right-click a group of comfort buttons to which you want to add the event button and select New > Create Event Button.
- Enter a name.
- Use the button to select the following parameters:
- The event location for which the event is being configured
- The event keyword
- An auxiliary keyword (optional)
- An escalation level (optional)
- Enter an event comment.
- Click Finish.
Defining Visualization Variants for Event Buttons
The visualization variants can be defined for individual event buttons or a group of comfort buttons.
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- Right-click an event button or group of comfort buttons and select Objects > Set Visualization Variant.
- In the Set for All Objects of Type field, select Event Button.
- In the New Visualization Variant field, select a variant.
- Click Finish.
Inserting Event Buttons in Graphics
The event button can only be launched from a graphic, thus you have to drag the event button in the relevant graphic.
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- An event button has been configured.
- Open the Graphics Tree.
- Drag the event button from the Graphics Tree to the graphic.
Defining Workflow Handlings for Event Buttons
In order for the event button to function properly, you have to define a workflow handling annotation.
- The OPS/Workflow Configuration perspective is displayed.
- In the Location Tree, right-click an area where you want to locate the event button and select Create Annotation > Create Workflow Handling.
- Assign a workflow to the event.
- Right-click the area again and select Create Annotation > Create Operation Procedure Step to assign operation procedure steps to the associated workflow. For more information refer to: Configuring Operation Procedure Steps Annotations.
