The navigation across several graphics or graphic sections can be enabled through navigation points. By clicking the navigation points, other existing graphics are referenced. The following steps are necessary to configure navigation points.
Creating Groups of Navigation Points
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- In the Graphics Tree, right-click a blank space and select New > Group of Navigation Points.
- Enter a name.
- To create more than one group of navigation points, enter the appropriate number in the Number of Instances field.
- Enter a comment if necessary.
- Click Next.
- To display the first object with a number, mark the Number on First Object check box. Otherwise, it will not be numbered.
- To enter your own name pattern, change the default name in the Multiple Name Pattern field.
- Click Finish.
Creating Navigation Points
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- A group of navigation points has been created.
- Right-click a group of navigation points and select New > Navigation.
- Enter a name.
- To create more than one navigation point, enter the appropriate number in the Number of Instances field.
- Enter a comment if necessary.
- Click Next.
- To display the first object with a number, mark the Number on First Object check box. Otherwise, it will not be numbered.

Positioning Navigation Points in Graphics
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- A graphic is displayed.
- The Graphics Tree is displayed.
- Select one or more navigation points you want to position in the graphic.
- Drag the navigation points from the Graphics Tree to the graphic.
Configuring Navigation Points
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- In the Object Properties view, select Misc > Graphic Viewport Reference.
- Select the graphic section you later want to switch to by clicking the navigation symbol.
- Click Finish.
Defining Visualization Variants for Navigation Symbols
- The Engineering perspective is displayed.
- Right-click a navigation point and select Objects > Set Visualization Variant.
- Select both a visualization variant and navigation symbol.
- Click Finish.
- To check the navigation, press Alt and click the navigation symbol in the graphic.
