An access route plan indicates the way from the location agreed with the fire brigade to the corresponding room where the detector group is located. In general, access route plans are structured as follows:

  • The first page displays the access route from the central fire alarm system to the respective building. If no description of the route is needed, the content of the second page will be displayed.
  • The second page displays the access route within the building to the detector group.

Defining Access Routes

You can add access paths to an area, a detector group, sum detector or node in the Location Tree.

  • The Access Route Plans perspective is displayed.
  • A calibrated graphic is displayed.
  1. In the Location Tree or in the Graphics view, select an area or an object for which you want to define an access route.
  1. Right-click the area or outline and select Add Access Path.
  1. In the graphic, click the point you want to define as starting point.
  1. Click additional points on the access route.
  1. To cancel the process, press Esc.
  1. Double-click the last point to save the access route. To edit access paths, refer to: Managing Access and Escape Routes.
  • The access route appears as a green arrow.
  • The access route only appears when the corresponding area or object is selected.

Editing Graphic Attributes of Access Routes

You can edit graphic attributes of the access route paths.

  • The Access Route Plans perspective is displayed.
  1. In either the Location Tree or System Tree, select the object whose access path is defined as annotation, for example a detector group.
  1. In the Graphics view, select the arrow whose graphic attributes you want to edit.
  1. Select the Style view.
  1. Define the line style. You have the following options:
  • Style: You can choose the style of the arrow (for example solid line 1).

  • Arrow Type: You can select the arrow type (for example thick closed arrow tip 8).
  • Arrow Size: You can enter the size of the arrow (for example 25).
  • Visible: To not display the arrow, unmark the check box. Otherwise, keep the default setting.
  • Blink: To highlight the arrow by blinking, mark the check box. Otherwise, unmark the check box.
  1. Click  Save style attributes.
  1. To use the default settings, click  Load default styles. For more information on standard settings refer to: Configuring Graphics Styles.

Detection Areas in Access Route Plans

If an object with an annotated detection area is displayed on an access route plan, the detection area is also displayed. For more information refer to: Managing Detection Areas. The detection area is automatically added to the legend. You can change the display text in the legend. For more information refer to: Configuring Access Route Plan Elements If you want to distinguish different detection areas, you can define and assign different subtypes for detection areas. For more information refer to: Subtypes Configuration.

Configuring Access Route Plan Elements

You can define special icons for the elements that are used in access route plans, for example fire control panels, detectors, hydrants and else for the access route plan printout. The icons are only visible on the printout.

  • The Access Route Plans perspective is displayed.
  1. In the toolbar, click the following symbol:
  1. In the Display Text column, define the text to be displayed in the header of the access route plan.
  1. In the Symbol Text Filter column, set the number of text characters to be displayed for an element. For example:
  • To display the first four text characters, enter [4]*.
  • To display the last five text characters, enter *[5].
  • To display no text characters, enter [0].
  • To display three text characters after a particular character string, enter *”character string”[3].
  • To display six text characters before a particular character string, enter [6]”character string”*.

  1. Click OK twice.

Access Route Plans Configuration with Collective Detector Lines and Collective Detectors

Collective detector lines and collective detectors are considered in creating access route plans. Here, the number of collective detectors is automatically registered by the system. If you created all collective detectors in the System Tree, the number of detectors will be displayed in the access route plan. With collective detectors distributed in the graphic over several rooms (areas), these rooms are also automatically included into the access route plan.
