Time intervals can be applied to OPSs, graphic sequences or other information displayed in case of a message or an event in Siveillance Control. The use of time intervals is tailored to the customers' needs and is very flexible, allowing you to define time intervals and assign them to OPSs that apply to the entire site as well as to specific areas of it. Such time intervals as for example "On duty", "Off duty", "Weekend", "Morning shift", "Evening shift" or also other user-defined time intervals are possible. For time intervals a license is required. For more information, refer to: License Import.

- Under the Time Intervals node, a new object with the required time interval is created.
- Additionally, all time intervals that you have created are displayed in the Time Intervals view or Time Intervals tree of the OPS/Workflow Configuration perspective. For more information on the view, refer to: Time Intervals view or Time Intervals tree.
Time Intervals Combination
Some of the time intervals you create may have time overlap. Therefore, you can combine them. Once a specific time point is included in one of the time intervals, it is calculated as valid. Siveillance Control checks all stored time intervals one by one, and as soon as one of them applies, it is counted as a match. The order of the time intervals is crucial when more than one time interval matches, as it determines which time interval is applied first.
Example: Two time intervals with an overlap in time are created. One of these time intervals is created specifically for your workdays, while the other is for Mondays only.
- The time interval for workdays includes the following settings:
- Weekdays: Mo, Tu, We, Th, Fr.
- Start Time: 8:00:00 AM.
- End Time: 6:00:00 PM.
- The time interval for Mondays includes the following settings:
- Weekdays: Mo.
If both time intervals are combined, a Monday morning 6:00:00 AM is valid, whereas a Tuesday morning 6:00:00 AM is invalid time point.
