The OIS functions as link and network layer between the Management system and the alarm systems and enables the exchange of data. Siveillance Control receives messages from a connected OIS. An OIS connection in Siveillance Control is set up for the bidirectional communication between the Siveillance Control server and OIS. The connected systems are displayed in the Administration perspective under System > External Systems and System Engineering > External Systems.

Creating OIS Connections

For establishing a connection, OIS Tools is necessary. For this, you need a SSL certificate enabling the secured connection between the server and OIS Tools. The certificate has to be confirmed by an already authorized user and then installed on the server. Following this, you can establish the bi-directional connection between the server and OIS. For detailed information refer to: Creating and Editing the OIS Connection in Subsystems Integration with OIS.

  • The Administration perspective is displayed.
  • OIS Tools has been installed.
  1. In the Administration tree, right-click System > External Systems and select Create OIS Connection.
  1. Enter a name with which the user can identify the connection.
  1. Enter a connection address. You can find the connection address in the units configured in OIS Tools under the gateway.
  1. Enter a token. You can find the token by selecting the current user in OIS Tools under Settings > Certificates.
  1. If Operation Scheduler tasks are to be created from Siveillance Control enter the Operation Scheduler Connection Name. You can find the connection name from the optional attributes of the vuamq unit configured in OIS Tools under the gateway.
  1. Click Finish.

Keeping OIS Connections after the Last Logout

You can keep the connection to the subsystems when the last Siveillance Control client exists.

  • Either the Administration or Engineering perspective is displayed.
  • The connection to the subsystem is established.
  1. In the Administration tree of the Administration perspective, right-click the component and select Edit Object Properties.
  1. In the System Tree of the Engineering perspective, right-click the component and select Edit Object Properties.
  1. In the Object Properties view, select true in the Keep connection field.

Authorizing OIS Connections

Before you can start the connection, you need to authorize it.

  • OIS Tools has been installed.
  1. Open the browser.
  1. Enter the following link in the address bar:
    https://[ois-server-ip]
  1. Select the certificate and click OK.
  1. Open the OIS Tools in the browser.
