The Vu-Handler connects external systems to Siveillance Control through OIS. The OIS functions as link and network layer between the management system and the alarm systems and enables the exchange of data. Siveillance Control receives messages from a connected OIS. A connection is defined as combination of an OIS site, an OIS Gateway and an OIS unit. The connected systems are displayed in the Administration perspective under System > External Systems and System Engineering > External Systems. You have to authenticate yourself using an SSL certificate in order to access OIS Tools. The certificate exchange allows a secure connection to be established between the server and OIS Tools. You need to have the certificate used confirmed by an already authorized user and then load it on the servers. You can then establish an OIS connection in Siveillance Control in order to set up the bidirectional connection between the server and OIS. For detailed information on OIS Tools refer to the OIS Web User Manual (OIS Tools start page > Help).

After installing the OIS server you can start a web socket connection, to establish the bidirectional connection between the Siveillance Control and OIS server.

Creating OIS Connections in Engineering Client

  • The Administration perspective is displayed.
  • OIS Tools is displayed in the Web browser.
  1. In the Administration tree, right-click System > External Systems and select Create OIS Connection.
  1. Enter a name with which the user can identify the connection.
  1. Enter a connection address. You can find the connection address in the engineering unit configured under the gateway in the OIS Tools.
  1. Enter a secure token. You can find the security key under Settings > Certificates in the OIS Tools.
  1. If Operation Scheduler tasks are to be created from Siveillance Control enter the Operation Scheduler Connection Name. You can find the connection name from the optional attributes of the vuamq unit configured in OIS Tools under the gateway.
  1. Click Finish.
  1. Continue with the data points import. For more information, refer to: Importing the Data Points File in Configuration.
  1. The changes made on the engineering server are not automatically available on the runtime server and need to be activated first. Continue with activating the data. For more information refer to: Data Check and Validation in Configuration.

Editing OIS Connections in Runtime Client

This configuration is only necessary if you want to use the OIS connection simultaneously from engineering client and runtime client.

  • The Administration perspective is displayed.
  • OIS Tools has been installed.
  1. In the Administration tree, select a component under System > External Systems.
  1. In the Object Properties view, click Misc > URI.
  1. Replace the connection address of engineering client with runtime client. You can find the connection address in the runtime unit configured under the gateway in OIS Tools.
  1. To start receiving the messages, switch on the OIS component under System Tree. For more Information, refer to: Subsystems and Integrations in Operation.

Editing OIS Connections

  • The Administration perspective is displayed.
  • OIS Tools has been installed.
  1. In the Administration tree, double-click an OIS component under System > External Systems.
  1. Enter your changes.
  1. Click Finish.

Synchronizing Data Points with Siveillance Control

  • OIS connection is started, and the OIS connection state is green.
  • The Administration perspective is displayed.
  • In the Administration tree, under System > External Systems, right-click an OIS connection and select Synchronize.
  • New or updated data points are automatically imported from OIS to Siveillance Control .
