This section explains how to create a SALTO cloud-based lock and gateway.

Only Electronic lock and Gateway are supported.

There are two types of locks which can be created: offline and online. For creating the online locks, you need to create a gateway first and then assign this gateway to the SALTO cloud-based online lock.

The following device types are supported:

  • Gateway: A gateway is a device that connects multiple online locks to the internet. A gateway is required to connect the SALTO cloud-based online lock with the SALTO cloud. NOTICE! The gateway can connect a maximum of 112 locks. The range between lock and gateway is 10 meters.
  • Online: Locks that are permanently connected to the internet through a gateway. An online lock can be assigned to only one gateway.
  • Offline: Locks that do not have an internet connection and are not connected to a gateway.

The following operating modes are supported for Online and Offline locks:

  • Standard: After an authorized unlock, the lock automatically re-secures itself after a few seconds.
  • Office: After an authorized unlock, the lock remains permanently unlocked until it is manually re-locked by presenting an authorized credential (physical or app) again.

Assignment status for locks

The SALTO cloud-based lock status are defined as follows:

  • Assigned to door: The lock is assigned to a door. For more information refer to: Creating doors.
  • Not assigned: The lock is not assigned to a door.

Assignment status for gateways

The SALTO gateway status are defined as follows:

  • Locks assigned: At least one lock is assigned to the gateway.
  • No locks assigned: No lock is assigned to the gateway.

Commissioning status

The SALTO lock and gateway commissioning status are defined as follows:

  • Commissioned: The lock or gateway has been configured with the SALTO Nebula smartphone app.
  • Not commissioned: The lock or gateway has not yet been configured with the SALTO Nebula smartphone app.
  • Not available: The lock or gateway commissioning status could not be retrieved.

Battery charge status

Currently, Security Manager can only display the battery status of online locks. The battery status can be high or low.
The battery status of offline locks is not shown in Security Manager.
