1. In the Nav pane, expand Station > Config > Drivers > BacnetNetwork.
  1. Double-click BacnetComm to display the Property Sheet.
  1. In the Property Sheet, expand Network > Ip port > Link.
  1. Update the parameters as needed. Generally, the parameters in the following table need to be configured.
  1. Click Save to save the view.

When configured correctly:

Status transitions to {ok}.

Parameters for a Niagara station BACnet MS/TP link.

Parameter

Notes

Network Number

The number of the BACnet network to which the station’s IP port is connected.

Port Name

The MS/TP network port used to connect to the BACnet network. Enter COM1 or COM2, based on the port markings on the N4 / TNM enclosure.

Baud Rate

The bit rate of the MS/TP network.

Mstp Address

The MS/TP network MAC address for the N4 / TNM on the connected MS/TP network. Zero (0) is usually a safe choice for this.

Enabled

Enables or disables the communication link.

Routing_Enabled

  • If BACnet MS/TP devices will be connected to more than one MS/TP port of the N4 / TNM (see the figure SLX with BACnet MS/TP Link(s)), and communication between BACnet MS/TP devices on different ports is required, set Routing_Enabled to true. When set to true, the N4 / TNM routes messages between the BACnet MS/TP ports.
  • If the N4 / TNM will have BACnet MS/TP devices connected to only a single MS/TP port (see the figure SLX with BACnet MS/TP Link(s)) use the Routing_Enabled setting determined in the section Configuring N4 JACE station BACnet/IP Links.

Routing_Enabled

  • If BACnet MS/TP devices will be connected to more than one MS/TP port of the N4 / TNM (see the figure TNM with BACnet MS/TP Link(s)), and communication between BACnet MS/TP devices on different ports is required, set Routing_Enabled to true. When set to true, the N4 / TNM routes messages between the BACnet MS/TP ports.
  • If the N4 / TNM will have BACnet MS/TP devices connected to only a single MS/TP port (see the figure TNM with BACnet MS/TP Link(s)) use the Routing_Enabled setting determined in the section Configuring TNM BACnet/IP Links.

Maintain_Routing_Enabled

  • False
The station automatically disables routing in the presence of routing errors, such as router loops.
  • True
The station continues to attempt to route messages even when routing errors are detected.

Configuring Multiple MS/TP Links

  • To configure multiple MS/TP links, do the following to ensure that the preconfigured network statistics counters and views described in the Network Statistics section are available on the new link:
  • Right-click and select Duplicate to duplicate one of the default links.
