The Siemens N4 Appliance provides the following customizable pre-defined user accounts with specific rights that can be duplicated and modified to create job-specific user accounts.

Siemens_Integrator

  • A technical user with unrestricted access (super user) to the station.
  • Uses the station for operation, monitoring, engineering and commissioning of the system.
  • Can add, delete and modify station files and services, as well as read and write device configuration data. Configuration data is accessed using the device’s property sheet.

Siemens_Balancer

  • A technical user with access to the station, but no access to the engineering and commissioning features of the station.
  • Uses the station for operation, monitoring and configuration of the system.

Siemens_Customer

  • A user with limited access to the Technical View.
  • Uses the station for everyday operation and monitoring of the system.

NOTE:
For cybersecurity reasons, there are no default passwords, even though the Password and Confirm fields in the Property Sheet are filled out. Passwords for default user accounts must be defined while configuring the Siemens N4 Appliance.

Configuring User Accounts

  • You have logged in to the Siemens N4 Appliance station using the admin account.
  1. From the Nav pane, select and expand Config, Services, UserService, and then double-click Siemens_Customer.
  1. From the Property Sheet tab, in the Authenticator section, enter a password, for example, Cust_001.
  1. Leave all other settings at the default and click Save.

 

Creating new user accounts based on the default station accounts

  1. Navigate to Station > Config > Services > User Service and select an account to duplicate.
  • For a customer account, select Siemens_Customer.
  • For a dealer technical specialist account, select Siemens_Intergrator.
  • For a Balancer account, select Balancer.
  1. Right-click on the selected account and select Duplicate.
  1. Select a name for the new account and click OK.
  1. Double-click the new account to open the AX Property Sheet.
  1. Enter a new password and confirm that password.
  1. If you want, you can force the user to change their password and set Force Reset at Next Logon accordingly.
  1. Select Save.
