This section covers the steps required to update a Siemens N4 Appliance version 1.10 station to version 3.00.

NOTICE

Save a copy of your current Siemens Appliance 1.10 station!

Always use Station Copier to save a copy of your current Siemens Appliance 1.10 station before executing the upgrade procedure.

Complete the procedure Before Installing the Siemens N4 Appliance before performing these steps.

1. Update Modules in the JACE
   a. Open the JACE platform (not the Supervisor platform) and use Platform/Software Manager to copy modules to the JACE platform.
   
   b. Click Upgrade.
   
   c. Scroll down to find the siemensAppliance. (Select the following files: siemensAppliance-rt/ux/wb), sieUtilities, and if not previously installed, haystack-rt, bacnetUtil-rt, and dashboard-rt/ux/wb.
   
   d. Click Commit. The new modules are sent to the JACE.

2. Restart the Station
   Open Platform/Application Director and restart the new station.

3. Install the Station Update Files. The station update files are used by the JACE station to create a Siemens N4 Appliance 3.00 station. In File Transfer Client:
   
   a. In the left pane, under “Files on this computer”, locate and open the Siemens_N4_Appliance_3_00_100/UpdateFiles folder as shown in the following Figure. Move the cursor over the path configuration box to display the selected path. If you cannot find the Siemens_N4_Appliance_3_00_100 folder, review the first section of this document.
   
   b. In the right pane, under Files on “[station_id], locate and open /home/niagara/shared. Your File Transfer Client view should look similar to the view shown in Figure 9, Transferring the Siemens_Update Folder.
   
   c. Click the arrow pointing to the right to copy the folder and its contents. You should then see a Siemens_Update_3_00 folder in the right pane.

4. Add Services
   a. Log in to the restarted station.
   
   b. From the Palette sidebar, open the sieUtilities palette and drag SieUpgradeStation into the station’s Config/Services folder.

5. Upgrade the Station
   Right-click on the SieUpgradeStation service and select Actions/Sie Upgrade Station.

• The station is converted to an N4 Appliance station.

6. Restart the Station
   Open Platform/Application Director and restart the new station.

• The Installation is now complete.
