- Model geometry is saved to an accessible file location.
- An IFC file has been exported from an associated modeling/authoring software.
- A site is created in Lifecycle Twin and is open.
- Go to Files > Documents in the left navigation menu.
- The Documents window displays.
- Select Add > File (1).
- In the file Open dialog, navigate to and select the IFC file to be added.
You can upload model files of types ECD, IFC, RVT, and PCloud. However, only ECD, IFC, PCloud file types display in the Model viewer.
- Select Open.
- The UPLOAD dialog displays with a list of selected files.
- (Optional) Select the checkbox next to the file and select Edit. In the Edit dialog, define the metadata and object links for the file. Once done, select OK to return to the UPLOAD dialog.
- Select Next.
- The ADD FILES – LINK TO BUILDINGS dialog displays.
- (Optional) If you want a model to be associated with a building that has been defined for the site within Lifecycle Twin, select the checkbox next to the model file name and select Link to building.
- Select a building from the list and confirm with Select.
- The ADD FILES – LINK TO BUILDINGS dialog displays the model file and the building assigned to it.
- Select Upload.
- The progress of the file upload displays. After the file is successfully uploaded, a success message displays. You can now view the geometric models in the Model Viewer. See Viewing geometric models in the Model viewer in Lifecycle Twin.
