A remote data service (RDS) is a gateway between the Lifecycle Twin web server and BAS devices and services on the client’s network. RDS allows to:
- Configure remote devices and services.
- Retrieve information from remote devices and services and store it in the database / read trend information from the BMS system.
For on-premise systems, a RDS server needs to be installed on the client's network and must be:
- Accessible from the Lifecycle Twin application server.
- Connected to the controllers and/or BMS systems.
Details on deployment recommendations can be found in the Cybersecurity Guidelines. Details of the installation of RDS are available in the installation guidelines.
