Event-based processing influences the way the Message List view is presented as well as the filters used in the Messages (Filter) tree. Depending on the user settings for events, it is possible that event-based processing is always switched on when Siveillance Control is started. Also, switching between the modes can be prohibited for your user role.

Activating Event-Based Processing

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  1. Click the following symbol:
  • The Siveillance Control mode symbol turns blue.
  • All messages are assigned to a filter.
  • All messages are subdivided according to their processing status for event processing.
  • The default Message List view displays only messages to be reviewed.
  1. To display messages that are already assigned to events or closed messages, click the corresponding filter.
  • The corresponding messages appear in the Message List view.

Deactivating Event-Based Processing

Working without event-based processing is particularly useful in the following cases:

  • You work with a smaller subsystem or configuration.
  • You are used to older Siveillance Control versions, where this was the only presentation style.
  • You want to search through all messages.

To deactivate the event-based processing, complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Events/Messages perspective.
  1. Click the following symbol:
  • All messages appear in the Message List view.
