Messages of the Information type are special in the sense that OIS sends them under certain circumstances but never sends a corresponding quiet message. Therefore, the Set Information State to 'quiet' context menu is available to allow cleaning messages of the Information type from the message list.

Example: The Check if zone can be armed command is sent to Transliner IC. If the zone cannot be armed, OIS sends a main message of the Information type for the zone and submessages for all objects (for example glass break detector, tamper contact) that prohibit arming.

To set information state to quiet, you have the following options:

  1. In the System States (Filter) tree of the Events/Messages perspective, double-click the Information node.
  • Select one or more detectors that are displayed.
  • Right-click and select Set Information State to 'quiet'.

  • The Information state is set to quiet for the selected detectors and also messages are quieted that have led to this state.
  • If the selection contains objects whose Information state is already set to quiet, they are silently ignored.
  • The operator log contains the Reset performed for [N] messages entry, where [N] is the number of messages for objects that were not yet quiet and have been quieted.
