You can use scheduled events to automate regularly recurring events. Scheduled events are defined in the Scheduled Events (Runtime) perspective and then displayed in the Events/Messages perspective.

Displaying Scheduled Events

  1. You have the following options to display a scheduled event in the Events/Messages perspective:
  • Open the Scheduled Events view.
  • Double-click a scheduled event.
  • The scheduled event is displayed in the Rate Message window.
  1. You can display scheduled events in the Scheduled Events (Runtime) perspective.
  • Open the Scheduled Events (Runtime) perspective.
  • In the Administration tree, choose an entry under System > Scheduled Events.
  • The scheduled event is displayed in the Scheduled Event view.

Selecting Scheduled Events

  1. Click a scheduled event.
  1. To select several scheduled events in the Scheduled Events view, press Ctrl and click additional messages.
  1. To remove messages from the selection, press Ctrl and the message.

Creating Scheduled Events

Scheduled events are automatically started at the specified start time. When selecting the start time, keep in mind that the start can be delayed up to 30 seconds due to technical reasons.

  • The Scheduled Events (Runtime) perspective is displayed.
  1. In the Administration tree, open the System node.
  1. Right-click Scheduled Events and select Create New Scheduled Event.
  1. Enter a name.
  1. Enter a comment if necessary.
  1. Click Finish.
  1. Click the scheduled event to open it in the Scheduled Event view.
  1. To schedule a single occurrence, complete the following steps:
  • Click and select a start date.
  • Select a time.
  1. To schedule multiple occurrences, complete the following steps:
  • Mark the Every option and select the days on which the scheduled event is to be performed.
  • In the Start field, click and select a start date.
  • Select a time.
  • If you want to define an end of the time period, mark End.
  • In the End field, click and select an end date.
  1. To define an exception, complete the following steps:
  • Click Add next to the Except for the following periods field.
  • Select a calendar.
  • To add another exception, repeat the previous two steps.
  • Click Finish.
  1. Define the event details:
  • Select an event location.
  • Select a keyword.
  • Select a subkeyword.
  • Select an escalation level.
  • Enter a comment.
  • You can deselect one or more operation procedure steps. The operation procedure steps depend on the selected keyword, subkeyword and escalation level.
  • Select an operation.
  1. To deactivate a scheduled event temporarily, keep the default settings in the Suspend (dont start automatically) check box. Otherwise, unmark the check box.
  1. Click Save.
