You can manually add new messages to already existing events. The first message of an event is the leading message. If you select an event, the graphic sequence for the leading message is displayed. The display of graphic sequences can also be changed to one of the other messages. You can change the leading message or remove messages from an event. Furthermore you can assign unreviewed messages automatically to an existing event.

Adding Messages to Events

You can add incoming messages to already existing events. That can be useful if the alarm comes from the same incident location and primarily confirms an already known situation.

  • A message is displayed.
  • The message has not been assigned to an event.
  1. Click the following symbol:
  1. Select an event to which you want to add the message.
  1. Click Finish.

Changing the Leading Message of Events

It can be necessary to change the leading message in the course of processing an event.

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  • The event is displayed in the Rate Message window.
  1. Open the Messages tab.
  1. Right-click the new leading message and select Change Leading Message.
  • The leading message changes. This message appears on top of the list.
  • The event location changes. The other event properties remain.
  • The operation procedure step process does not restart.

Displaying Graphic Sequences for Messages

You can display graphic sequences for any message that is assigned to an event.

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  • The event is displayed in the Rate Message window.
  1. Open the Messages tab.
  1. To display the graphic sequence for a message you have the following options:
  • Double-click a message.
  • Right-click a message and select Display Graphic Sequence for Message.
  • The Graphic perspective shows the graphic sequence defined for the detector that triggered the message.

Removing Messages from Events

You can remove messages from an event as long as the event is not closed. This can be useful, if messages have been entered again as a result of an operation error. All removed messages can still be recognized by the respective event ID. These are identified additionally by an X.

  • The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
  • The event is displayed in the Rate Message window.
  1. Open the Messages tab.
  1. Right-click the message you want to remove and select Remove Message.
  1. Click Yes.
  • The message is removed from the event.
  • Messages removed from an event appear in the Message List view again.
  1. To display all messages that have been removed you can filter the Message List view: In the Event ID column, enter x.

Assigning Messages Retrospectively

You can add additional messages to an event by clicking a button. When assigning messages retrospectively, the Message List view is browsed for unreviewed messages that meet the event criteria. Matching messages are assigned to the event. The acoustic warning is quieted or disabled for this message. A message is automatically assigned to the event if it meets the following conditions:

  • The message is a status message.
  • The message must not be assigned to another event.
  • The message was received within the last hour.
  • The new messages came from detectors that are located in the same area in the Location Tree. If you assigned a message from a detector in a second area to the event, all other messages coming from detectors in the two areas are considered.
  • The detector type and status changes must be identical to the detector types that are already assigned to the event.
  • Only the detector types and status changes that have been released in Siveillance Control are included in the message assignment.
  1. In the Event List view, double-click an event for which you want to assign messages retrospectively.
  1. Click the following symbol:
  • Formerly unassigned alarms with identical alarm location are added to the corresponding event.
  • These alarm messages disappear from the Message List view when event-based processing is activated.
