Email notifications can be sent as operation procedure step to pre-configured email addresses by means of an external email server. The emails can also be sent as SMS text messages depending on the functions offered by this email server. The email server can be manually started or stopped.

For certain alarms, it can be configured that an event is created automatically with an SOP that includes an automatic email notification. While testing alarms, you can prevent the system from sending automatic email notifications by stopping the email server. Once the testing is finished, you can start the email server.

Stopping Email Server

  • Email account is configured and the connection is established.
  • The Administration perspective or the Single, +3 or +5 perspective is displayed.
  1. To switch off the email server, you have the following options:
  • In the Administration perspective, right-click the email connection under System > External Systems.
  • In the System Tree of the Single, +3 or +5 perspective, right click the email connection.
  1. Select Stop.
  • If the connection is stopped, the icon turns grey.

Starting Email Server

  • Email connection is stopped.
  • The Administration perspective or the Single, +3 or +5 perspective is displayed.
  1. To switch on the email server, you have the following options:
  • In the Administration perspective, right-click the email connection under System > External Systems.
  • In the System Tree of the Single, +3 or +5 perspective, right click the email connection.
  1. Select Start.
  • If the connection is started, the icon turns green.
