The trees and views offer you many options for filtering. You can filter lists, perform commands using icons and more.
Tree and View Functions
You can launch a number of functions from the trees and views. The following functions are available:

Filtering Views from Trees
You can filter the tables in views of the Events/Messages perspective, for example, by using the filters available in the trees.
- The Events/Messages perspective is displayed.
- To filter the Message List view, click a filter in the Messages (Filter) tree.
- The applied filter appears in the table header.
- An excerpt of messages matching the filter criteria appears in the Message List view.
- To filter the System State List view, click a filter in the System States (Filter) tree.
- To filter the Scheduled Events view, click a filter in the Scheduled Events (Filter) tree.
- To filter the Event List view, click a filter in the Events (Filter) tree.
Filtering Tables with Filter Criteria
You can filter the tables in views of the Events/Messages perspective, for example, by using the fields for filter criteria above the table header.
- A table is displayed.
- Select a field above the table header of a column.
- You have the following options:
- Enter a search term.
- For text columns, open the drop-down menu and select a search term.
- For date columns, open the drop-down menu and select a date and time interval.
- All table items matching the filter appear.
- The text color of the applied filter criteria turns blue.
- In the Events/Messages perspective, the filter resets automatically after 30 seconds.
- To remove a filter after selecting it from the drop-down menu or entering a search term, click in the column.
- All table items appear again.
