Incoming messages are displayed in the toolbar and the Message List view. Simultaneously, a warning tone is played.

Stopping Warning Tones

  • In the toolbar, click the following symbol:
  • The warning tone stops.
  • The alarm bell turns white:

Rating Messages

  1. Open the Events/Messages perspective.
  1. In the Message List view, double-click a message.
  • You are now responsible to process the message.
  • The message is displayed in the Rate Message window.
  • In the Graphics view, the area where the alarm went off appears in red.

Performing Operation Procedure Steps

In Siveillance Control OPSs for messages and events are offered. You can perform OPSs on incoming messages without creating an event.

  • The Rate Message window is displayed.
  1. Click the Operation Procedure Steps tab.
  1. Perform the first operation procedure step.
  1. Double-click the operation procedure step after processing it.
  • The operation procedure step is ticked off.
  • The operation procedure step is finished.
  1. Repeat this step for the remaining operation procedure steps.
  1. If one of the steps fails, right-click it and select Override State.
  1. To create an event for the incoming message, refer to: Creating New Events in the Rate Message Window.
  • The lifecycle state changes to Finished successfully.
  • After operation procedure steps are performed, a corresponding entry appears in the Operator Log perspective.

Alarm Messages from Detectors with Annotated Cameras

If alarm messages of detectors with annotated and related cameras come in, the alarm monitor will display the following video information in a row:

  • Snapshot: First tile
  • Pre-alarm recording: Second tile
  • Live stream from annotated cameras: Third tile
  • Live stream from a related camera: Fourth tile

The video information will be arranged on the alarm monitor in the same order as the messages are listed in the Message List view. The following screenshots show two alarm messages in the Message List view and the related video information on the alarm monitor.

As soon as an alarm message is acknowledged by an operator, the related video information will be removed from the alarm monitor and transferred to the spot monitor of the operator’s workstation.

Transferring Video Streams from Alarm to Spot Monitor

  • The alarm monitor has been configured.
  • An alarm message has been received.
  • A snapshot, pre-alarm recording of the video stream, live stream from annotated and related cameras appear automatically on the alarm monitor.
  • If there are more than one alarm messages that are not processed, the video information of the alarms is arranged according to the order of messages in the Message List view.
  • In the Message List view, double-click an alarm message.
  • The snapshot, pre-alarm and post-alarm recording of the video stream, live stream from the annotated, relevant and related cameras appear automatically on the spot monitor.

  • The video information of the acknowledged alarm is removed from the alarm monitor. The remaining video information is rearranged.
  • When the message is quieted, the related camera streams disappear from the spot monitor and the camera views defined for the default layout is restored.
