Transmit a manual announcement / Trigger an evacuation with a manual announcement

The manual announcement function of the PT2003-A1 depends on the configuration and the software version.

Variant A: without using the hook-off switch

  • Use the PACE-Design MP2.0 SR2 or later versions
  • The PT2003-A1 is configured without using the hook-off switch ('Austrian F3033 behavior' deactivated) and with the <Push-To-Talk> button configured as 'All call'.
  1. Remove the microphone from the housing.
  • No action.
  1. Press the <Push-To-Talk> button on the microphone and hold it while talking into the microphone at a normal sound level.
  • All zones are selected for this alarm message.
  • Active announcements and background music are deactivated.
  • If configured, a pre-announcement message is played and the engaged LED <BESETZT> is active.
  • The microphone is activated.
  • A manual announcement is made in all zones.
  1. Release the <Push-To-Talk> button after the announcement.
  • The microphone is deactivated.
  • All zones are deselected.
  • Another announcement can be performed when you press the <Push-To-Talk> button again. If so, jump to step 2.
  1. Put the microphone back in the housing.
  • No action.

Notes:

  • If the microphone is not or not correctly put back to the microphone holder during the configured timeout, a fault will be displayed.
  • An additional announcement can be performed when you press the <Push-To-Talk> button again. If so, jump to step 2.

Variant B: using the hook-off switch (according to the Austrian standard F3033)

  • Use the PACE-Design MP2.0 SR2 or later versions
  • The PT2003-A1 is configured using the hook-off switch ('Austrian F3033 behavior' activated) and the <Push-To-Talk> button is configured as 'All call'.
  1. Remove the microphone from the housing.
  • All zones are selected for this alarm message.
  1. Press the <Push-To-Talk> button on the microphone and hold it while talking into the microphone at a normal sound level.
  • Active announcements and background music are deactivated.
  • The microphone is activated.
  • If configured, a pre-announcement message is played and the engaged LED <BESETZT> is active.
  • A manual announcement is made in all zones.
  1. Release the <Push-To-Talk> button after the announcement.
  • The microphone is deactivated.
  • Another announcement can be performed when you press the <Push-To-Talk> button again. If so, jump to step 2.
  1. Put the microphone back in the housing.
  • All zones are deselected.

Notes:

  • If the microphone is not or not correctly put back to the microphone holder during the configured timeout, a fault will be displayed, the zones will not be deselected and the additional announcement cannot be performed.
  • Before you can perform an additional announcement, you need to put the microphone back to the microphone holder.

Play a recorded announcement / Trigger an evacuation with a recorded announcement

  1. Press a button labeled with the required announcement.
  • An alarm is triggered.
  • Active announcements are deactivated in all zones.
  • The announcement is made in all zones.
  • With the corresponding configuration, the announcement is also emitted via the integrated speaker.
  • The announcement is continually repeated.
  1. Press the reset button <RÜCKSTELLEN/AKUSTIK AB> to end the announcement.

Reset a fault message

  • The fault LED <STÖRUNG> lights up.
  • Press the reset button <RÜCKSTELLEN/AKUSTIK AB>.
  • The fault LED <STÖRUNG> turns off.
  • The fault in the system has been rectified.
  • The fault message is reset.

Recur fault messages

  • The fault LED <STÖRUNG> lights up again.
  • The fault in the system has not been rectified.
  • Inform Siemens customer support.
  • Request that maintenance be carried out by technical personnel.
