The spring-loaded safety valve protects the discharge network of an automatic extinguishing system from overpressure. As the safety valve is calibrated during production, it can be directly installed without any additional settings.

The need for a safety valve is project-dependent. In a single zone system, it can be installed in the discharge network, or before the 2-way mechanical blocking device within the discharge network. In a multi zone system the safety valve has to be installed between the manifold and the selector valves.

When the pressure before the safety valve reaches the response pressure, the valve starts to open. When the pressure drops below the response pressure, the valve starts to close.
