- You have reviewed and conformed to minimum system requirements.
- You have installed JDK 11 for the Java Runtime Environment.
- Run the setup.exe installer.
- Select Yes when asked to allow the app to make changes.

- In the Welcome Wizard, select Next.
- Agree to the License Agreement.
- Select the user scope for this Optic instance- all users or only the current user.
- Either change the installation file location or keep the default.
- Configure custom settings: port number, super-user password, desktop shortcut, Windows Service, and 64bit JVM.
To optimize the security and efficiency of your FIN instance, review the following settings:
Port number: Optic runs on port 8080 by default, but you can specify another port.
Super-user password: Set a strong, 10-character password that includes a lowercase, uppercase, number, and special character.
Desktop shortcut: (optional) Enabled by default.
Run Optic as a Windows Service: (optional) Enabled by default.
Run on 64bit JVM: This is optional if your machine has Java 64bit installed.
- If an older Optic 5 version is detected, choose if you want to copy settings and database, and/or uninstall the older version.
- The installer will fetch a license from the Cloud if it exists and is current. If not, you can upload the license manually or skip this step. If the license is invalid, you'll need to contact your distributor/OEM for a new one.
- Choose the name of the Start Menu folder, and select Install. If the Optic service is running, stop the service to continue installation.
- After completion, Optic will open in the default browser.
