We do not recommend commissioning devices uninstalled since unique identification in the control system cannot be guaranteed if multiple radiator valve actuators of the same type are installed (they are merely identified in the system by type designation).
Nevertheless, it may make sense to commission a radiator valve actuator uninstalled, for example, if the device is installed in a difficult to access location such that the DataMatrixCode can no longer be scanned.
- A Thread Border Router is within range.
- Scan the DataMatrix code on the wireless radiator valve actuator.
- Actuator assignment is done in the system.
- Remove the insulation strip from the battery compartment or install the batteries.
- The battery compartment must be open and the batteries held lightly in place to remove the insulation strip.
- Error message E1 ("Mechanical adaptation failed") displays.
- The connection starsts automatically.
- The device displays PA (= "pairing"). The wireless symbol flashes briefly.
- It can take up to 1 hour for the radiator valve actuator to connect.
NOTICE
Quick battery discharge
Commissioning an uninstalled device results in high battery consumption (ca. 10%/week).
- Recommendation: Commission after installation.
- Alternative: Remove the batteries after commissioning uninstalled and insert again after installing the device.
- Install the wireless radiator valve actuator on the radiator.
- Start mechanical adaption (simultaneously press both touch elements - duration ca. 10...15 seconds).
- Commissioning is completed.
