Following steps are required to configuring connection to PEC:
- Registering the PEC software. See Registering PEC.
- Configuring hardware. See Configuring hardware.
Registering PEC
- Prerequisite: The software has been installed. See Installing PEC Software.
- Prerequisite: The activation key has been created in Security Manager. See Retrieving activation key in Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help.
- Right-click on the symbol
ID.PrintEncode Client and select Registration.
- Following dialog opens:
- Enter the license key which was created in Security Manager.
- Click on Register.
- The message Client registered is shown and the symbol ID.PrintEncode Client color change to the blue
. The blue color means that the PEC is connected to the Cloud.
- The client is registered.
Now the hardware needs to be configured.
Configuring hardware
Printer with encoder and desktop encoder needs to be configured.
To configure it proceed with the following steps:
- Prerequisite: The client has been registered. See section Registering PEC.
- Prerequisite: The PC/SC driver has been installed. See section PC/SC USB driver in System Requirements.
- Richt-click on the icon ID.PrintEncode Client and select Hardware.
- The Hardware Configuration dialog opens.
- Select the printer name from the Printer Name drop-down list.
- Select the printer type from the Printer Type drop-down list.
- To test the connection, click on Test.
- Select the encoder name from the Encoder Name drop-down list.
- Select the port from the COM Port drop-down list.
- To test the connection, click on Test.
- To configure desktop encoder select the Desktop Encoder tab.
- Select the encoder name from the Encoder Name drop-down list.
- Select the port from the COM Port drop-down list.
- To test the connection, click on Test.
- Click Save.
- The hardware are configured.
