This guide provides you information how set up and configure a card printing and encoding gateway software, enabling seamless cloud-based printing and encoding of cards from Security Manager.

Workflow

Following steps are required to set up Card Lifecycle Management (CLM) for Security Manager:

  1. Make sure that the printer is ready for operation. For information on installation refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
  1. Make sure that the desktop encoder or printer with encoder is ready for operation. For information on installation refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
  1. Create connection with card printing and encoding gateway in Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Connecting card printing and encoding gateway.
  1. Install and register the card printing and encoding gateway software. See Installing PEC Software.
  1. Configure the printer and encoder. See Configuring connection to PEC.
  1. Import print layout and encoding definition into Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Creating ID card definitions.
  1. Make the system settings in Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Configuring ID card settings.
