This guide provides you information how set up and configure a card printing and encoding gateway software, enabling seamless cloud-based printing and encoding of cards from Security Manager.
Workflow
Following steps are required to set up Card Lifecycle Management (CLM) for Security Manager:
- Make sure that the printer is ready for operation. For information on installation refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
- Make sure that the desktop encoder or printer with encoder is ready for operation. For information on installation refer to the manufacturer's documentation.
- Create connection with card printing and encoding gateway in Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Connecting card printing and encoding gateway.
- Install and register the card printing and encoding gateway software. See Installing PEC Software.
- Configure the printer and encoder. See Configuring connection to PEC.
- Import print layout and encoding definition into Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Creating ID card definitions.
- Make the system settings in Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Configuring ID card settings.
- If necessary, assign the card definition to a group in Security Manager. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Creating workflow definitions.
- Print the card. See Building X Security Manager Onboarding Online Help, chapter Displaying status of ID cards print jobs.
