The danger management system must offer the possibility of software upgrades to the latest available version, to benefit from new features and from enhanced protection against possible cybersecurity threats.
This can be achieved by enabling a subscription to a software upgrade service, which must offer:
- Permanent protection against cybersecurity threats
- Availability of the latest software features (system and limits upgrade)
- Compatibility with the latest version of supported operating systems
- Support of the latest versions of the integrated subsystems
The building management system must support a centralized management of software updates and upgrades. It must provide a mechanism which allows for:
- Distributing the software from the server to all the connected machines (e.g., clients and FEPs)
- Running the software update and monitoring the progress of the update from the server on all the connected machines
