Before mounting:
- Check that the nozzle orifice and the specific position of the nozzle in the discharge piping are suitable for the room to be protected.
- Make sure that the holders for the discharge piping are positioned in such a way that the pulse generated when flooding with extinguishing agent starts cannot move the extinguishing nozzle. This applies in particular to nozzle SDNS-M-SC, as its asymmetrical jet stream generates a high amount of force on the nozzle and discharge piping.
- Check the discharge piping for contamination that could block the orifice during the extinguishing process.
- Clean and deburr the edges of the pipe.
- Check that the nozzle is clean.
Mounting the nozzle on the pipe:
- Apply sealant to the piping thread.
- Screw the nozzle onto the piping thread.
- Tighten the nozzle.
- Align the distributor holes so that the extinguishing agent is distributed evenly in the flooding zone.
- Make sure that there are no obstacles that would prevent the extinguishing agent from being discharged.
- Make sure that there is sufficient space around the nozzle to ensure that the extinguishing agent can flow out efficiently.
- Do not align the distributor holes with sensitive devices such as servers or memory systems.
Nozzle alignment and fastening
Fastening the nozzle and discharge piping
- The Silent Nozzle with asymmetrical jet stream (SDNS-M-SC) in particular generates a strong pulse during flooding.
- Therefore, ensure that the discharge piping close to the nozzle is equipped with a fastening that will absorb the forces generated.
Check that the jet stream is aligned as defined in the installation plan.
