Gather the following information before planning a Thread network.

Relevant information includes (by floor):

  • Furniture
  • People density over time
  • Shelves, desks, vending machines

For additional information on obstacles, see 'Obstacles'.

Perform an on-site scan to find any source of interference and existing WLAN networks using the 2.4 GHz band of a Thread wireless system.

For additional information, see 'On-site scans'.
