Metal claddings and cupboards, furniture, or electronic devices, such as TV screens, can diminish communication quality.
Obstacles are displayed on the operation dashboard. To avoid device connection through obstacles, add an extra TME or TBR, where necessary. Avoid placing TMEs close to obstacles and place Thread devices in a clear line of sight between devices.
Empty shelves can be filled with material, open doors may be closed, or empty spaces can become crowded with people during normal operating hours, all of which lower signal strength on the network. See figure below.
