Overview

MSIB can acquire real time data from a BAS and write that data to an SQL Server database through an ODBC connection. MSIB can also acquire data directly from Modbus TCP devices and write it to a SQL Server database via an ODBC connection. MSIB will push data to existing database tables which have already been defined in the SQL database server management tool. MSIB will push data to, but will not create database tables nor configure fields in database tables.

MSIB to SQL Server Database Service

Process

MSIB must be configured to write the data to the specified database table. MSIB needs to know the database location as well as the database user name and password.

SQL Server Database Service Process

For detailed steps on how to configure MSIB to use SQL Configuration Service, see Creating and Configuring SQL Server Nodes.
