Perform the following steps to install MSIB. Run the msibSetup_3.3.6.exe file by double-clicking the file and following the onscreen prompts.
- Double-click the msibSetup_3.3.6.exe file.
- Read and accept the License Agreement. Select Next to continue.
- On the Port Configuration screen, enter the port for running MSIB. Select Next to continue.
For the default HTTPS installation, Port Configuration defaults to Port 8443. If this installation requires a different port for SSL/TLS communication or if Port 8443 is in use by another application, then enter an alternate port number.
MSIB fails to start if the specified port is already in use by another application, so it is important to ensure that an unused port is provided here.
To change the HTTPS port after initial installation, see the section titled Changing the HTTPS Port.
- Choose one of the three installation options listed below depending on what MSIB services will be enabled.
For more installation information, see the section titled Before Installing MSIB.
After following one of the three options, go to Completing the installation section of this chapter to complete the installation.
Option 1: Siemens Web-based Offerings (Default)
- Select the License Key for MSIB to use.
The no license key option is marked as default.
- Select Next to continue.
- Select how MSIB configures BACnet nodes. No is the default selection.
- Select Next to continue.
- Select the choices to pushing data to Navigator, Data Center Hub, Building Twin or PRT 2.0.
- Select Next to continue.
Option 2: SQL and SMUD (non-BACnet server mode)
- Select the License Key for MSIB to use.
- For SQL and SMUD services, select the license key required option.
- Select Next to continue.
- Select how MSIB configures BACnet nodes. No is the default selection.
- Select Next to continue.
- The choices now include SQL and SMUD options.
- Select a choice to enable that service and select Next to continue.
Option 3: All BACnet Server Mode Services
- Select the License Key for MSIB to use.
- For other LMS service options, select the license key required option.
- Select Next to continue.
- Select how MSIB configures BACnet nodes. Select Yes for BACnet IP data.
- Select Next to continue.
- The choices now include all MSIB BACnet Server Mode options.
- Select a choice to enable that service and select Next to continue.
Completing the installation
- To enable local storage of the data sent to Navigator, check the Enable box and select Next.
This setting applies to the Navigator Service only. MSIB does not locally save data copies for any other endpoint type.
- Choose a location for Local Data Storage. Select Next to continue.
- Choose a Start Menu Folder name and select Next to continue.
- (Optional) Choose to create a desktop shortcut.
- Select Next to continue.
- Review the installation process and select Install to begin installation.
- The installation begins.
- Complete the MSIB installation by starting the MSIB Service. Select Finish to complete the install process.
