To onboard a component to the application as a part of a commissioning process the Create component option is used. This option is used for a quick onsite onboarding, populating only the most essential information and is not intended to perform a detail onboarding for every property for the component. A maximum of two images per component can be clicked onsite and these images can be used for the detail onboarding of other properties using the web application.
This option is available only with the iPad.
Components can either be created using the New option when a component is not found as mentioned in Searching for components or rooms and segments or by performing the following steps:
- Tap Assets on the vertical navigation and then tap Components.
- Tap
on the title bar.
- The Create component dialog box displays.
- Enter the following values for the new component.
- Object ID. The Object ID must be unique. If not entered, the Object ID is auto generated by the system.
- Name. This is a mandatory field.
- Description
- Type
- Serial number
- Barcode
- Warranty start date
- Installation date
- Building. This is a mandatory field.
- Room/segment
- Tap and add an image of the component. To add an image, select Gallery or Take picture from the displayed options. You can add a maximum of two images.
- Tap Save. This button is available only if the values for name and building are present.
