The Create component option is used to onboard a component to the application as a part of a commissioning process. This option is used for a quick onsite onboarding, populating only the most essential information and is not intended to perform onboarding in detail for every property for the component. A maximum of two images per component can be taken onsite and these images can be used for the detail onboarding of other properties using the web application.

This option is available only with the iPad.

You can create a component in the online and offline modes from the Create component screen. This screen displays after selecting New on the displayed dialog, when the search via barcode scans or asset identification does not yield any results. See Searching for components or rooms and segments.

If you are working in the online mode, you can access the Create component screen by tapping Assets > Components on the vertical navigation and thereafter tapping on the title bar.

  • The Create component screen is open.
  1. Enter the following values for the new component.
  • Object ID. The Object ID must be unique. If not entered, the Object ID is auto generated by the system.
  • Name. This is a mandatory field.
  • Description
  • Type
  • Serial number
  • Barcode
  • Warranty start date
  • Installation date
  • Building. This is a mandatory field.
  • Room/segment
  1. Perform the following steps to add an image of the component.
  • Tap .
  • Select Gallery or Take picture from the displayed options. You can add a maximum of two images.
  1. Tap Save. This button is available only if the values for mandatory fields Name and Building are present.

If you have created the component in the offline mode, you must upload the component information to the server. See Uploading offline changes to the server.
