Activating text-to-speech is used to announce the received events. After the device testing is completed by field engineers, as per the text-to-speech settings configured device zone and number address, and customer text will be announced. For any site, you can activate text-to-speech either by switching to Devices and Tests tab.

  • You have selected a site.
  1. Tap either Devices tab or Tests tab.

Tests tab is visible only for sites with fire panel firmware version MP3.1.

  • For Devices tab: If you tap Devices tab, the Activate text-to-speech button is displayed as shown:
  • For Tests tab: Once the test case is opened the Activate text-to-speech button is displayed as shown:
  1. Tap Activate text-to-speech button.
  1. With push notification mechanism, tap Open notification settings, in Notification Settings dialog box, enable the toggle button to activate the push notification for the following event categories:
  • Alarm
  • Gas/CO/Emergency
  • Other
  • In Notification Settings dialog all the above event categories are activated, and all the settings are saved automatically.
  • Depending on the tab that you choose in the above steps, navigate back to the same tab.
  1. Tap Activate text-to-speech button to activate the text-to-speech option and following message appears:
  1. Tap Activate.
  • A message appears Text-to-speech active.
  • Text-to-speech option will be active for 8 hours for the site.
  • Tap icon, the Text-to-speech toggle button is enabled.
  1. To deactivate, tap icon.
  • Disable the Text-to-speech toggle button.
  • If you want to reactivate text-to-speech option again, tap icon.
  • Once the device testing is completed, as per the text-to-speech settings enabled, detector zone, number (address), and customer text is announced.
