The SELVAL-140-xxxF selector valve features a pneumatic drive that opens a ball valve to direct the flow of extinguishant to the associated protected zone.

The selector valve is closed in idle state. If a fire breaks out in a protected zone, the extinguishing control panel (ECP) activates the associated solenoid valve. The pilot gas enters the pneumatic drive of the selector valve. The pneumatic drive triggers the complete opening of the ball valve by an angle of 90°.

The extinguishant can then be discharged in the associated protected zone. When the pilot pressure drops or the solenoid valve is deactivated, the selector valve remains open. After the discharge, the selector valve must be closed manually by qualified personnel using an open-end wrench.

A yellow line on the switchbox indicates the position of the selector valve (open/closed). The limit switches allow to monitor the position of the ball valve.
