The controller can be upgraded via data cable or via Ethernet. However, I/O extension modules can only be upgraded via data cable.
For firmware upgrades of the controller and I/O extension modules via data cable, you can request upgrade and driver files from your local Siemens office.
NOTICE
If no manual restart is required, always keep the device powered on during upgrade to avoid upgrade failure!
After the upgrade is complete, the new firmware version can be viewed during simulation and commissioning. See "Simulation and commissioning" for details.
