Once the virtual credential has been added in the Apple Wallet on the mobile device, the virtual credential will be automatically added in the Apple Wallet and appears on the Apple Watch.

If the Apple Watch is paired later after the credential was already added to the phone, the Add to Apple Wallet button will appear again in the Building X Access app. When going through the workflow again, it will add the virtual credential on the Apple Watch as well. See Setting up Apple Wallet on mobile devices.

Currently the Apple Watch is not displayed as an additional device in the credentials in Security Manager.

Checking virtual credential on Apple Watch

Proceed with the following steps to check the virtual credential in the Apple Watch.

  • Open the Apple Wallet app on the Apple Watch.
  • The virtual credential is displayed, which is added in the Apple Wallet automatically.

Now the Apple Watch with the virtual credential can be used against the reader. The Wallet will pop up and based on the existing access rights the door access is granted or denied further. For more information, see Opening doors.
