RDF4..BN has 2 multifunctional inputs, X1 - universal input and D1 - digital input.
RDF4..MB has 1 multifunctional input D1 - digital input.
An NTC type sensor such as NTC 3k, NTC 10k, a voltage signal DC 0...10 V or a switch is connected to the universal input terminal X1. The functionality of the inputs is configured via P60 + P61 for X1, P62 + P63 for D1.
The current temperature or state of the input X1/D1 is available on the bus for monitoring purposes.
Parameters P60/P62 can be set to the following values:
Object name | # | Input function | Description | Type X1 |
Type D1 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | No input | No function | -- |
-- |
Analog input X1 (RDF4..BN) | 2 | External room temperature sensor | Sensor input for external room temperature sensor to acquire the current room temperature. | AI | |
Changeover mode | 3 | Heating/cooling changeover | Sensor input for "Automatic heating/cooling changeover" function. A switch can also be connected rather than a sensor. Important: Switching state configured via P61/P63. Heating/cooling changeover is possible via bus. In this case, the function must not be assigned to local input X1/D1. | AI/DI |
DI |
Window contact | 4 | Window contact | Digital input to change over the operating mode to Protection. If the window contact is active, user operations are ineffective and OFF is displayed. Window contact is also possible via bus. In this case, do not assign the function to local input X1/D1. | DI |
DI |
Fault | 5 | Fault input | Digital input to signal an external fault (e.g.: external sensor error). If the input is active, is displayed and a fault is sent on the bus. See also Handling system faults. Note: Fault displays have no impact on thermostat operation. They merely represent a visual signal. | DI |
DI |
Digital input X1 (RDF4..BN) Input D1 | 6 | Monitor input (digital) | Digital input to monitor the state of an external switch via bus | DI |
DI |
Analog input X1 (RDF4..BN) | 7 | Monitor input (analog) | Sensor input to monitor the state of an external sensor (e.g., NTC 3k) via bus. | AI | |
Presence detector | 8 | Presence detector | Presence detector input switches the operating mode to Comfort when the room is occupied and returns to previous operating mode when the room is unoccupied. Presence detector is also possible via bus. In this case, do not assign the function to local input X1/D1. | DI |
DI |
Keycard | 9 | Hotel presence detector | Hotel presence detector input switches the operating mode to Economy when the room is unoccupied and symbol is displayed (buttons are locked) and returns to previous operating mode when the room is occupied. Hotel presence detector is also possible via bus. In this case, do not assign the function to local input X1/D1. | DI |
DI |
Modulating valve state (RDF440BN) | 10 | Modulating valve state |
Physical valve position feedback from actuator voltage signal DC 0...10 V | AI |
Notes
- Control action can be changed from normally open (NO) and normally closed (NC) via P61 or P63.
- Sensor type NTC 3k, NTC 10k can be selected via P61.
