Description

1

Mounting holes (4 in total, for surface/wall mounting)

2

  • EM.8D: 8 digital inputs
  • EM.8R: 8 relay outputs
  • EM.8U: 8 universal inputs and outputs

3

LED indicators:

  • RUN: Device status indicator
  • EM BUS TX, EM BUS RX: Communication status indicator
  • See "LED indicator" for more information about LED indicators

4

A 6-position DIP switch for setting communication parameters:

  • Positions 1… 5 are used to set the communication address of the device. The bit order of the five positions is 1 to 5. The lowest bit is 1 (20); the highest is 5 (24). The extension modules only support connection to the ELC.E14 controller. Up to five extension modules can be connected to one controller.
  • Address "0" cannot be used for any modules. It is recommended to set the addresses of the five extension modules to 1 (20), 2 (21), 4 (22), 8 (23) and 16 (24) respectively. If you want to set them to different addresses, see "Appendix: Modbus addresses configured by DIP switch".
  • The extension module address set by the DIP switch must match the module address configured in Logic Manager Programming Tool.
  • Position 6 is used for the EOL setting. If the extension module is a network terminal, position 6 must be "ON".
