To use the FDD rules packages, you must onboard the equipment in the Data Setup app and link rules to assets in the Rules app.
Preparation
The following steps must be completed before the FDD rules can be used.
- You have purchased an Operations Manager subscription and FDD Root Cause Analysis (OM Add-on) subscription. See Purchasing a new subscription
- The Operations Manager and FDD Root Cause Analysis subscription are assigned to the partition with the buildings where you want to run the rules. See Adding on subscriptions & Creating a new partition.
- In Accounts, the following user groups have been created: See Creating a new user group.
- Connectivity Engineer: Required to onboard Edge gateways and devices in Devices.
- Application Engineer: Required to set up the building structure in Data Setup.
- Operations Manager Advanced: Required to access all functions in Operations Manager.
- Rules Advanced: Required to access all functions in Rules.
- The user responsible for setting up the FDD rules has been added to the new user groups. See Adding users to user groups.
- To enable FDD in Operations Manager, a machine user must be created. This can be done from the Operations Manager user interface. The user setting up the product requires the Machine User Administrator role to be able to create the machine user.
- In Devices, a site has been created. See Creating sites.
- A device has been added. See Adding devices.
- In Data Setup, an automatic enrichment has been performed. The correct pieces of equipment and tags have been created for the data points. See Enriching the structure automatically.
- Alternatively, the equipment and tags have been created manually. See Creating pieces of equipment.
- The tags, type, and units of the data points required by the FDD rules are listed in this table: Appendix - Data points required for FDD rules
- In the Relationships card, the polling interval, storage interval and deviation have been set to the following numbers:
- Polling interval: 5 min
- Storage interval: 10 min
- Deviation: 0%
- The tags have been published. See Publishing tags.
- The data points have been activated. See Activating data points.
- Relationships between the relevant pieces of equipment that are used in the FDD rules have been created (for example Air Handling Unit supplying to multiple Terminal Units). See Creating relationships.
- The Rules app was opened for the first time and a machine user was created. See Creating a machine user.
If a Building X Connector from a Desigo CC system on premise is used: The Building X Connector needs to run version IoT6 or later and the polling interval of 15 min must be configured in Data Setup.
You can find the table with the FDD rules included in the package in the Appendix: Required data points
