To use Environmental and Air Quality Application, specific steps must be performed in Accounts, Devices and Data Setup. This chapter explains the steps and which data point tags are required.
While Desigo CC V5.1 or higher is recommended, Connect X200, Connect X300, Connect Box, PXC 4/5/7 and Desigo Optic can also be used.
- In Accounts, create user groups by following these steps:
- Create a user group for Environmental and Air Quality Application with the Indoor Air Quality app general user user role.
- Add all users for Environmental and Air Quality Application to this group. See Creating a new user group and Adding users to user groups.
- Create a machine user with the user role Indoor Air Quality System Machine User. See Creating a machine user.
- Switch to Devices and add the required device.
- Switch to Data Setup.
- Create the building structure with floors and rooms. See Creating the building structure manually or Creating the building structure automatically.
- Create at least one piece of equipment for each room. See: Creating pieces of equipment.
Example: For Discipline, select Comfort, for Type select Sensor.
The Environmental and Air Quality Application will take the status of all assigned pieces of equipment when evaluating the room status. Triggering one sensor will modify the room status to occupied. This means that if you want to monitor different segments of an open space separately, you will have to represent this open space as multiple rooms and assign the equipment accordingly.
- Assign the relevant data points for the indoor air quality to all pieces of equipment. See: Managing data points
- Activate the data points.
- Assign tags to the data points by following these steps:
- Go to Table.
- From the dropdown list, select Data points.
- Search for the relevant data points by type.
- All data points with the required criteria are displayed in the table.
- Select all data points.
- Select Edit tags.
- The Edit data point tags view displays.
- Add haystack tags to the data points as described in the table below.
- Change the status of the new tags to Published.
- Select Save.
Recommendation: Repeat these steps for all required data point types and add tags to all similar data points at once.
If you want to remove rooms from reports in the Environmental and Air Quality Application, remove the tags from the indoor air quality data points.
To view floor plans in Environmental and Air Quality Application, add a floor plan in Data Setup and assign the rooms from the structure to the floor plan. You can use all file formats which are supported by 2D floor plan editor.
For more information on how to set up a floor plan, see the Building X Data Setup Online help.

For specifying an outdoor sensor, the following tag phIoT:outdoorUnit can be applied to a room/floor area. If this tag is specified, the indoor thresholds are not applied on this specific area.
The unit from the temperature sensors is automatically picked up from Data Setup.
