For onboarding of customers with pulse meters, please contact the Building X Customer Support to activate meter reset functionality if required.
Note: Pulse meters might reset due for several reasons like temporary missing electricity supply on the edge level controller. This would lead to negative consumption spikes if meter reset functionality is not activated.

Meters can be differentiated between main meters and submeters. Before you can create a submeter, a main meter must be created.

Meter equipment for energy generation cannot be used in Energy Manager.

Submeters need to be linked to main meters with Part of/Parts relationships. In the Relationships card of the submeters, the main meter must be selected as Part of. A submeter is then shown as Parts of the respective main meter. A submeter can have other submeters linked as Parts. The relationships define the hierarchy of the meters. In Energy Manager, the highest meter of this hierarchy is considered for the reporting.
Example: Submeter C is Part of submeter B. Submeter B is Part of the main meter A. Main meter A is considered for reporting.

For more information on the Part of/Parts relationships, see Equipment to equipment relationships.
