The Desigo Plug and Play Automation application contains functions that are either global or mapped to rooms. The functions include
- Operating mode scheduler
- Setpoint scheduler
- Heating / cooling changeover function according to calendar or manual operation
- Primary heating demand
- Primary cooling demand
- Determine distribution heating and cooling demand
- Calculation of effective temperature
- Distribution of room unit setpoints to valve actuators
- Energy consumption calculations (electrical, heating, and cooling)
- Electrical meter tariff calculations
Functions are assigned to disciplines based on domain, such as comfort, heating, cooling or metering.
Some parameters can be adjusted in device detail cards to override global settings temporarily. The effective value follows the principle of “last wins”, which means that a local value remains in effect until another change is made or the update with global settings is made at a switching point or after synchronization, which is done every 12 hours. Some functions can only be used with certain devices. This dependency is indicated in the Notes column in the table below.
In the view Commissioning > Functions available functions are listed in the right column. The functions are added to different disciplines: Comfort, Cooling, Heating, Energy management, and Metering. The functions determine the system operating mode and metrics displayed on the dashboard. Selected functions are activated by drag and drop to the respective discipline, and the result is displayed in the column to the right.
The scheduler controls the operating mode and is used to switch operating discipline (between Comfort, Economy and Protection) in a room.
